TESTED BY TOOLGLASS: NO
What is it?
Voltius starts as a modern SSH/SFTP client but extends into serial connections, persistent workspaces, encrypted device sync, container management, process monitoring, plugins and a local MCP server that can expose host and session operations to compatible AI tools.
Why did Radar notice it?
The interesting part is not another pretty SSH tab. Voltius is trying to make remote-machine administration programmable without forcing credentials and host metadata into somebody else's cloud. Its Gist-based sync option encrypts locally, while the MCP integration is off by default and runs on the user's machine.
That combination makes it a useful example of where agent tooling may be heading: not agents replacing infrastructure software, but established tools growing carefully bounded machine interfaces.
What's the catch?
The feature list is expanding quickly and the project still describes itself as early beta. macOS builds are not yet notarized and Windows builds are not yet code-signed, so first-run security warnings are expected. The MCP surface is powerful enough that its permission and audit behaviour deserves hands-on scrutiny before anyone lets an agent near production hosts.
Who might want it?
Homelab users, developers and small infrastructure teams who want a Termius-style interface without making a hosted account the centre of gravity, especially if they are experimenting with agent-controlled operations.
Radar verdict
An unusually ambitious open SSH client whose most interesting feature may be the boundary it is drawing between local credentials and agent-accessible infrastructure controls.
Next step
Install it with a disposable VM, inspect the MCP permissions and audit trail, then test whether an agent can perform useful bounded tasks without gaining a dangerously broad shell shortcut.
